Hello rainbow and yoga lovers. It has been a while since my last post so I thought I would give you all an update of the rainbow ride we have been traveling down over the last few months.
Firstly,besides spending time with our new room mate wally the pink and gray galah, we have taken the time to welcome in Autumn with this New Moon. A great time to set some intentions, new moon, new beginnings, healings, wishes and goal setting. Asking yourself if there is anything you need to let go for new beginnings and intensions to take place. With Autumn being a time to turn inward, to shed and rest, attending simple life and self care.
We celebrated the first day of Autumn at the Nannup Music Festival where we enjoyed Rainbow Yogis sessions, watching The Amazing Drumming Monkeys, listening to magical music by Loren Kate and Xave Brown, enjoying festival friendships and taking in the strong earth and wise trees of the beautiful Nannup grounds. A magical time for some well deserving “Earthing”.
Saying goodbye to the summer sunsets and warm ocean night swims will be hard but as the planet takes a moment to change our bodies also need to move with the flow of the tides and like the leaves on a tree let go of the old by shedding and releasing, making room for healing and peace.
Term one classes have started with new programmes and plenty of coconut water, love and colour, four classes a week! Toddlers, after school, teens and (brand new for this year) adults!
We have been getting creative in afterschool yoga classes, making calming jars and visualising amazing adventures with our very own secret, magic word during shavasana then afterwards, creating our magic word envelopes.
Here is how you can make a calming jar:
One jar filled with water
2 drops of food colouring
Poor two teaspoons of glitter of your choice in jar
And one tiny drop of coconut oil if your glitter has trouble settling.
Shake your jar until the glitter is spinning. Sit and watch your spinning glitter and imagine that it is like all the thoughts in your mind. If you take a few deep, slow breathes in and out, whilst sitting still and quiet, your glitter and your mind will settle, helping you feel calm and happy.
Don’t forget to smile and use your calming jar when you feel over tired, crazy, angry sad or even over excited. Calming your mind is very good for you and it gives you a chance to recharge and start again with focus and balance.
